Leon said, “We’ll try once more and if we can’t find him we can go to his house and eventually he will turn up.”

They all thought this was a good idea so they set off to look for Hoppy one more time.

They spent a long time searching, looking in caves, under things and over things. Eventually they gave up and sat down in Hoppy’s garden to rest.

They did not know that the statue behind them was in fact Hoppy covered in dry mud.

“I give up,” said Pippa.

“So do we,” said the others, “it’s starting to get dark.”

Hoppy was very pleased with himself for hiding so well. Now was the time he thought he would reveal himself to the others and be the one to start the next game.
